For

September

Another birth has hit the club.  This time it comes to Dan and Eileen Hebert.  They have a beautiful new Crystal Red Grand Sport!  Good luck to you both!

While on the subject of Dan Hebert, he is home resting in some pain after a bitter fall broke his arm and sent him to the “O.R.”  We were happy to see him out and about at the last board meeting, but his road to recovery will be a while yet.

We have several shut-in’s in our club.  Virginia Huffman will be having back surgery soon as well as the possibility of Elaine Peck for the same.  Okay ladies, enough is enough!  Joey Rome will have surgery soon, as well.  I guess he got jealous of seeing just the ladies names appearing on the “injured reserved” list.  If you know of anyone in need of mentioning, please contact one of our officers or board members so that we can remember to keep everyone in our prayers.

We have many activities coming up in and around the club.  Our first order of business will be to mention the homecomings and parades.  Maria is and will be calling on our drivers soon!

Jane has several activities planned for the club and there are tons of shows all around us.  We will be going to the Extravetteganza on Sept. 25th in Slidell.  Meet time will be posted after the meeting Thursday.  Also, several members are planning the “Wine Country” trip with the Confederation.  More information can be obtained at the meeting, as well.

Our Halloween Party has a new venue this year.  Chris and Deborah Angel have graciously offered their home.  I understand this is Deborah’s favorite holiday and she is already preparing Chris to pull out the decorations.

Our sponsor All Star Chevrolet is still offering great savings in the parts department.  Take advantage of this when in need.  Also, see Tiger, our club representative when shopping for a new or used vehicle.  Thank you All Star for all you do.

Finally, the weather looks like it’s trying to change so get out there and get those wheels turning and enjoy the ride, but don’t forget to wave.  It’s the “Proud” thing to do!
